Emergency Dental Treatment

Not all toothaches or broken teeth are treated the same way. Depending on the extent of tooth damage and the cause of your discomfort, Dr. Keyzer may recommend options like:

Root Canal Therapy

Endodontic treatment targets dying, abscessed, or infected nerve tissues inside of teeth. By removing the nerve, medicating the hollow chamber left behind, and sealing off the canals, we can halt the progression of damage and preserve your tooth for as long as possible. Modern root canal techniques are gentle and thorough. However, Dr. Keyzer also offers optional sedation to add onto any endodontic procedure.

Dental Extractions

Removing a tooth provides fast pain relief. Although our goal is to preserve your teeth as long as possible, extremely damaged or broken teeth may be non-restorable. In those situations, removing them is typically best for your overall oral health and the teeth on either side. Dr. Keyzer can also work with you to determine a permanent tooth replacement after the extraction is performed.

Each care plan is tailored to the individual, ensuring the best long-term outcome. In some cases, Dr. Keyzer may recommend medication to reduce swelling prior to the treatment being performed. An over-the-counter anti-inflammatory such as Motrin (ibuprofen) and a cold compress are usually best for managing discomfort.
